On Tuesday, August 2nd, at the chambers of Bnei Brak’s Mayor, Rabbi Yaakov Asher, a meeting was held by the members of the Bnei Brak Development Foundation Association, headed by the mayor.
A dramatic decrease of the number of vehicles moving on Zabutinsky street and inside Pardes Katz neighborhood and Kiryat Herzog, towards the mall area and neighborhoods in northern Tel Aviv, while providing a direct and effective transportation connection to those coming from “Geha” highway and Petach Tikva to the new commercial and business center in northern Bnei Brak, will all be a result of today’s launch and opening ceremony of the new “Em HaMoshavot” bridge and the road opening to the public.
Mr. Yang Sam Ma, South Korea Ambassador in Israel; Rabbi Yaakov Asher, Mayor of Bnei Brak and the great Rabbi Yosef Brook, head of “Netivot Olam” Yeshiva attended a special discussion concerning the fundamentals of the Talmud and its centrality in the life of the Jewish people, as part of a tour the Ambassador took around the city, which he did in order to hear about the Talmud, which is translated to English and is read by millions of South Korea residents who own and enjoy it.
Our teacher the great genius Rabbi Aharon Laive Steinman Shlita has turned to the Ambassador of France in Israel, Mr. Cristof Bigo, in regards to the issue of protecting kosher slaughtering, which is the best way and the most unfortunate of all other ways, so he may raise it before the French government, and thus also reach other European countries.
City Hall of Bnei Brak and the New York Diamond Market will work together to encourage investors to come to the business center in northern Bnei Brak: B.B.C – Bnei Brak Business Center. So was agreed in a meeting that was held between Rabbi Yaakov Asher and Rbbi Moshe Musbachar, New York Diamond Market President. Also attended the meeting Rabbi Moshe Aizen, CEO of Bnei Brak Development Foundation.
A unique ceremony of a pact signing ceremony was conducted for the first time between two ultra orthodox cities – Bnei Brak in Israel and Lockwood in New Jersey, USA. The ceremony was conducted in the conference hall of Bnei Brak city hall. Among the participants were rabbis, the two cities’ mayors, council members, US Embassy representative, local authority representative and heads of charity organizations in the city.
Members of the funds presidency in the United States Rabbi Eric Rothner from Chicago and Rabbi Yossi Waldman from Torronto arrived in Bnei Brak for a quick visit. The distinguished guests met with the mayor of Bnei brak and head of the fund Harav Yaakov Asher, and looked at the recent developments in the area of Mikves and at the opening of the funds office in New York which has just begun operating. Before they parted they met with the CEO of the fund Rabbi Moshe Aizen who was delighted to hear of the continuing investments in Israel and in particular in Bnei Brak.

Therefore it was very important for me to have met today with the Charedic public and become familiar with the city's unique character and with all those who dedicate their time to Torah learning. “Bnei Brak Business center is a large scale financial center of the BBC towers, a business compound for offices and businesses in a national scale”, said the minister of finance Dr.Yuval Steinitz in an impressive dedication ceremony of the compound. The Minister for construction and housing Harav Ariel Atias responded to a query by the mayor of Bnei Brak Harav Yaakov Asher and conveyed his willingness for The Israel Land Administration to assist town hall in advancing plans for the development in stages of a park in an area of 350 Dunam in the North of the city, for the development of an area for offices and trade on an area of 1.5 million sqm and for making land available for building synagogues, schools and public institutions.

The mutual connection between the residents of Bnei Brak, the Torah and Chasidic city, and residents of the and the city of Lakewood, the kingdom of Torah in New Jersey (U.S.A.), is taking shape after a recent visit of Mayor Yaakov Asher in Lakewood. Soon a twin city alliance between the two cities will be signed after Lakewood residents visited Gdolei Hatorah and Bnei Brak city hall. The delegation arrived in Israel for a week of “Yarchei Kalah” and Torah in Jerusalem.

The cooperation and Twin cities alliance between the city of Bnei Brak, the Torah and Chasidic centre in Israel, and the city of Lakewood in New Jersey, the kingdom of the Torah and Yeshivas in the United States, will be different from the customary relations between twin cities. Instead of the customary sport and theatre delegations, the connection between the two cities will be based on establishing common teams for educational and Torah activities with children and youth, exchange of well known and experienced lecturers in these fields and on formulating suggestions for solutions in the areas of housing for young people and buildings for institutions.
An extensive renovation in the amount of half a million dollar will begin in coming weeks at the municipal Mikve at Chafetz Hayim street in the suburb of Zichron Meir in Bnei Brak.
Ahead of the gathering for the establishment of the new Mikve in Shikun Gimel arrived in Bnei Brak our distinguished guest, the important and famous Nagid Rabbi Haim Moshe Feldman.
The great Torah leaders - the great Posek, HaRav Shmuel Halevi Wosner, the gavad of the Zichron Meir neighbourhood and head of the Chachmei Lublin yeshiva, and the great Rabbi Chaim Kenyevski praised the unique and exciting event that The Fund for the development of Bnei Brak held during one of the ten Days of Penitence.
The member of the Presidency's Fund, Rabbi Yaakov Mermorstein, has recently arrived in the city of Bnei Brak to have a close look at the activity of the fund for the development of Bnei Brak. He met the mayor and head of the fund, Rabbi Yaakov Asher, in the mayor's chambers for breakfast.
On August 12, 2010 the 2nd General Assembly of the Bnei Brak Development Fund was held at the chambers of Bnei Brak Mayor and Fund Chairman, Rabbi Yaakov Asher. Also attended the meeting Att. Ram Toren from the Gideon Fisher law firm accompanying the Fund.
Fund Director Moshe Eisen returned from his visit to New York and Chicago, where he met US fund members Mr. Ricki Rottner and Rabbi Yaakov Reichrenberg, Torah Umesorah Chairman, and other public figures and activists regarding the project of building the new Mikveh (public bath house) in Shikun Gimel.

Taiwan Envoy in Israel, Mr. Liang-Jen Chang, recently met with Bnei Brak Mayor, Rabbi Yaakov Asher, for a lengthy conversation in the Mayor's office, and expressed his contentment of the ongoing development in different areas of the city, and of future development plans presented to him by the Mayor.
